INFORMATION SCIENCE ( Accredited by NBA, AICTE New Delhi )
The department was started in the year 2000 with an annual intake of 60 students which was increased to 90 in 2008 – 09. It is headed by Mrs. Dilshad Begum, M.Tech. (Ph.D.), serving the institution since 2001. The department has been accredited twice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. It has independent accommodation with separate class rooms, laboratories, faculty rooms etc. It has 120 latest computers with all the required software with LAN and internet. It has established English Language Laboratory for improving the Communication skills of the Students.
It has obtained and executed R&D project worth Rs. 7.2 lakhs and also coordinated various Students Projects sanctioned from different Organizations. The department faculty members have published several research papers, organized and attended several programmes. The Department faculties were invited as Resource Persons to other Colleges. Various Application Softwares were developed by the faculty as a free service to Society. They have coordinated in various placement activities and trained the students for Placement. The department is approved by Government of Karnataka for third party inspection of all government works in Ramanagara district. A large percentage of students graduating from the department are placed in reputed companies within the country and abroad.
